It's not bad to grow old
As long as you are wise and bold.
I thank God for keeping me through the night,
And when I wake I can see the light.
I may be wrinkled and my hair may be gray,
But I still like to see the children play.

I hear a knock at my door.
When I open it, I see someone I never saw before.
I say, "Come on in. We'll have coffee and pie,"
And when she leaves we say goodbye.

Here I sit out on my porch,
I am ready for Sunday church.
I don't worry about my age,
Because I can still read every page.

I've been busy raising my children,
Now I feel I've reached my goal;
I feel my story's been told.

Sometime we wonder what life is all about,
But we know someday our life will run out.
I just live from day to day,
And at night I kneel and pray.
'I sing Amazing Grace' and
'What a Friend We Have In Jesus'.

I hope you do the same.
Go to church and don't forget to pray.
God Bless each and everyone.
